Websters were approached by Steve Ellis from Victoria Boatyard and tasked with insulating the interior of a 57ft Narrowboat in Sheffield. The boat was bare internally; with only a timber paneled floor and windows fitted. Websters applied Elastospray to the ceiling and the walls of the narrowboat and then sawed off excess foam to create a smooth surface (also known as “cutting back”). This allows for the res of the interior to be fit with ease.
The foam was applied to the interior of the boat at a thickness of 30mm which serves as not only an effective thermal insulator; but also eliminates the possibility of any condensation forming within the interior of the boat and prevents any leakage that could result from weathering.
